This is a mixed media large scale portrait. I used glass paint and cerne relief to create the abstract patterns in her headwrap as well as creating different types of textures for her hair using a piping bag with an impasto oil medium. I loved the whole process of making this piece and has given me a new direction for my work, which is experimenting with different ways of adding texture and pattern to the surface of the canvas.
